cURL? [Dec. 29th, 2009|11:52 am]

Anyone here know cURL?

When using cURL through a proxy, and you receive error 28 (timeout), is there a way to tell if the timeout is the proxy or the site to which the proxy is connecting and retrieving?

Learning Korean [Dec. 27th, 2009|06:01 pm]

[yanderess]
Hello everyone! I'm so sorry to intrude but I've been wanting to learn Korean for about a year now and figured I should cast away my anxiety and just try it. I'm a Japanese major at college and even though I'm still a new speaker, I tend to pick up on it really quickly. I've always wanted to learn Korean as well but it seems very difficult for native English speakers to learn. It's such a beautiful language though and I really want to attempt to learn it...

I tried looking around the past few weeks for Korean classes, but I couldn't find any decent ones in my area. I also tried looking for private Korean tutors, and I only found one that was way out of my price range.... Of course I'll keep checking back, but in the meantime, can anyone give me advice on how to start up?

I'd really, really appreciate it!

How much better the Knicks have been playing since Mike D'Antoni glued Nate Robinson to the bench?

Sure, they lost today, but so far this month, they've looked pretty darn good.

Arena's reportedly kept guns in locker room [Dec. 24th, 2009|06:49 pm]

Wizards say Arenas had firearms in locker

Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas stored unloaded firearms in a container in his locker, according to the team, and the NBA is looking into the situation.

The Wizards issued a statement Thursday night saying there was no ammunition in the locked container, and Arenas and the team have notified authorities and the league.

Officer Quintin Peterson, a spokesman for the Washington D.C. police department, said Thursday night there was no report of any active investigation involving Arenas.

The team and the three-time All-Star "are cooperating fully with law enforcement during its review of this matter and will have no further comment at this time," according to the Wizards' statement.

CBSSportsline.com first reported the investigation.

Wizards spokesman Scott Hall wouldn't say when or where Arenas had the firearms in his locker.

The NBA's collective bargaining agreement allows for players to legally possess firearms but prohibits them at league facilities or when traveling on any league-related business.

"We're aware of the situation and are working to gain a full understanding of the facts and relevant legal issues," the NBA said in a release.

Arenas scored 18 points in Washington's 109-97 victory at Milwaukee on Wednesday night. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Arenas is averaging 22.2 points after being limited to 15 games during the past two seasons following three operations on his left knee over 1 1/2 years.

Arenas, who turns 28 on Jan. 6 and is in the second season of an $111 million, six-year contract, is one of the NBA's most popular players, but the series of injuries has limited his time on the court. Nicknamed Agent Zero, he has a career average of 22.7 points over nine seasons in the NBA.

Laker fans got to see more of Shannon Brown than I'm sure most of them wanted to following Tuesday night's game, and the camera operator was awfully slow to notice.

Now, I like checking out a cute butt as much as the next straight woman, but I don't think most athletes want their goodies splashed all over TV and the internet.
